It’s a very busy time at EvoEnergy with some great commercial projects in the pipeline in addition to the many projects that are currently in progress. In the meantime, we are very pleased to report on two high-profile projects that have been won recently and ready to commence; these are the Derby Innovation Centre (53 kWp) and the Aldi Distribution Site (2.1 MWp), based in Bolton.
The UK Capital for Innovation
Plans for building the Derby Innovation Centre were initially revealed in 2013 with the Centre, costing £11.8m, forming the centrepiece to the overall ‘Infinity Park’ that will help some of Derby’s hi-tech companies practise and implement World-leading innovation.
At the time of publishing this news blog, the current progress of the construction can be seen in the photo above (provided by and copyrighted to Derby City Council).
As part of the development, the Innovation Centre was designed so that some of the energy demand would be delivered through renewable energy and we are now pleased to confirm that EvoEnergy have been awarded the project to design and install a 53 kWp solar PV system on the rooftop of the Centre. Work is set to start on the PV system in July 2015 and expected to be completed in 7 days.
The Infinity Park site, which is still under construction and recently visited and commended by David Cameron, will provide 1.5m square feet of commercial development with consultancy services providing support to the companies based there.
Aldi’s New Distribution Centre
As part of one of the largest industrial developments in the North of England, Harworth Estates are currently erecting a huge 450,000 sq ft distribution centre in Bolton for one of the UK’s leading supermarkets.
Aldi have plans to power the majority of their new site through a 2.1 MWp rooftop solar PV system and we are delighted to announce that EvoEnergy’s expertise have been brought in to deliver the huge project. EvoEnergy are scheduled to begin the work in the middle of June with the monumental project, consisting of 8,236 Renesola 255W panels, expected to take between 12-14 weeks.
The industrial development will also be home to a further 100,000 sq ft of space for MBDA – a missile defence systems company with the whole development expected to be completed and occupied by both clients in October 2015.
