EvoEnergy are a leading renewable energy company who consult, develop, design construct, monitor and maintain commercial Solar PV, energy storage, smart electrical infrastructure and EV charging systems.
We are seeking a new team member who will work closely with our internal teams, supply chain and ensure the business and our sub-contractors are meeting contractual obligations.
Reporting to the Operations Director, The Commercial Manager/Senior QS is primarily responsible for managing the operational relationship with suppliers and clients and driving the commercial outcomes of Projects through effective procurement, relationship management, risk mitigation and identifying opportunities.
The Commercial Manager/Senior QS will have knowledge of procurement and contract law, strong communication and negotiation skills, and an ability to drive team performance under tight deadlines. Close collaboration with internal teams in identifying and mitigating risk whilst capturing opportunity and ensuring that Projects are closely monitored for obligations and cost control. Strong management, delegation, and mentorship skills and a keen eye for detail are essential. A key strength required for this position is someone who is a strong stakeholder manager and thrives on developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the negotiation of contracts with supply chain and clients ensuring favourable for the business for terms and pricing
- Commercial awareness in supporting Project teams to capture variations and opportunities whilst managing and mitigating Project risks.
- Develop and analyse project budgets, forecasts and financial models on a commercial level to ensure cost effectiveness and profitability is achieved.
- Continually analyse project costings and report to Senior Team on profitability, loss, and opportunity.
- Strong Contractual understanding to support internal teams in contractual understanding, highlighting, and mitigating risks and understanding and adhering to contractual obligations.
- Mitigating resource concerns by sourcing and vetting new suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Analyse Project data, generate reports and present findings to Senior Management Team highlighting KPI’s, making recommendations and creating action plans.
- Assist in providing leadership and guidance to the internal teams setting objectives and targets to assist in professional development of individuals.
- Stay up to date with Industry regulation, compliance and codes of practice ensuring compliance to legal and ethical standards.
Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience within a fast paced commercial contracting and competitive industry.
- A BSc in Quantity Surveying Construction Cost Management or similar
- Degree or similar in business administration and contract law.
- Excellent contract management and negotiation skills with a proven track record
- Personable and able to work closely within a team but also to lead and mentor.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Experience of administering JCT/NEC/Vidic contract
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and considerate of implications.
- Ability to multi-task successfully, working across several projects and with a number of Project Managers simultaneously.
- Organised, and the ability to prioritse work accordingly to meet deadlines.
- Team player, ability to work independently when required.
Desirable Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Project Management knowledge or experience would be beneficial.
- Experience of working in the Construction Industry would be advantageous.
- Personal Interest in renewable energy and carbon reduction
