Summary
EvoEnergy provides ongoing aftercare (O&M) support for a large, complex solar PV and battery installation across a theme park estate in the Southampton and Romsey area. The site comprises multiple rooftop solar PV arrays and integrated battery storage, with a total installed capacity of 776.5 kWp across 14 arrays. Our role is to ensure the system continues to operate reliably, transparently, and with minimal operational burden on the client.
Challenge

Due to the park’s rural location and seasonal visitor volumes, several solar arrays began experiencing intermittent communications issues. These were traced to signal congestion on the on-site communications mast, which becomes overloaded when the park is open and large numbers of visitors connect simultaneously. While the affected systems continued generating power, data visibility was lost, creating concern for the client around monitoring, reporting, and long-term performance assurance.
Our Solution

EvoEnergy responded with a proactive and hands-on aftercare approach. An engineer attended site as part of a reactive maintenance visit, restoring communications on several affected meters and bringing them back online quickly. Where issues persisted on specific arrays, including the mower shed and warehouse, our team carried out further investigations, rebooted junction boxes, and engaged directly with the monitoring platform provider to diagnose the root cause.

Throughout the process, we worked closely with the client’s operations team, providing regular updates, clear explanations, and realistic next steps while continuing to monitor generation in the background.
Result

The majority of communications issues were resolved rapidly, restoring system visibility and reassurance for the client. Importantly, EvoEnergy’s ongoing oversight confirmed that generation was never compromised, despite temporary data interruptions.
