Over the last few months, the BRE has been busy merging their own knowledge and research with the expertise of the solar industry to produce their latest publication ‘Solar PV on Commercial Buildings: A Guide for Owners & Developers’ which was launched on the 19th July. Being the experts in commercial rooftop installations, EvoEnergy were consulted by the BRE to assist with the guide and provide input into key areas.
The aim of the guide is to help stimulate growth in the market by providing business owners, senior management and developers a central and detailed guide on how solar PV technology can benefit and integrate with their business or property, in addition to exploring different investment models and processes when installing solar. The guide covers several areas including;
- Financing options
- Making the business case
- Third party ownership and power purchase agreements
- Landlord/tenant leasing structures and terms
- Project processes and timescales
- Consents
- Grid connection
- The feed-in tariff
- Case studies
EvoEnergy worked with the BRE to provide advice and written expertise for key areas, in addition to providing several case studies and photography that demonstrate various ways that some of our clients have invested in and benefited from solar.
Earlier this year, EvoEnergy were also contributors to BRE’s Guide to Solar Carports providing industry-leading advice and expertise to the publication to help owners and developers learn more about the innovation and benefits of the solar carports.
The BRE is an independent and impartial organisation that has their own research centres around the UK, developing and providing key research to the built environmental sector. With the immediate cause to fight climate change, the BRE’s research and support to the various industry’s – including solar – helps meet the challenges of the sector and raise the awareness of key solutions and technologies.
