Over the next fifty years many scientists predict our supplies of fossil fuels will peak. With rising oil prices, the race is on to find cheaper and greener sources of energy.
Earlier this month, George Bush said that the US was addicted to oil and should greatly reduce imports from the Middle East. The US now plans a large increase in nuclear power.
Last week the Swedish government announced that the country will aim to wean itself off oil within 15 years – in favour of a complete switch to renewable energy.
