Gadget lovers rejoice! A new product provides real-time access to your generation figures and electricity consumption through your computer, smart phone or tablet – so you can keep a close eye on your system’s performance wherever you are.
It’s called OWL Intuition-pv and it uses a simple transmitter unit to automatically log your system data on a secure software platform. You can then log in to view live and historic data anywhere you have internet access, with a free app for your iPhone or Android mobile.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll see a clear summary of your electricity generation, use and costs, for the last day, week, month, three months or six months. Plus trend indicators, analysis and detailed graphs – which can also be downloaded or printed. Software can be upgraded as new features and services become available, meaning you’ll always have the latest technology at your fingertips.
But there is a more serious benefit too. We always find that monitoring systems like this one help our customers save that little bit more – if you’re more aware of the amount of electricity you’re using, you make more of an effort to switch appliances off when they’re not being used. When small changes add up they make a really big difference to your bills, so we’d say this little piece of kit is well worth the investment.
