Mark Wakeford is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Chartered Director, and Cambridge University engineering graduate with over 35 years’ experience in construction, property development and renewable energy. He combines strong technical expertise with commercial and strategic leadership, delivering business growth through innovation, operational excellence, and effective risk management.
As leader of EvoEnergy, Mark has driven the company’s growth by identifying emerging market opportunities, developing technically robust solutions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. He is recognised for his ability to translate industry trends into successful business strategies while maintaining a strong focus on quality, customer value, and long-term sustainability.
Prior to joining EvoEnergy, Mark served for 26 years as a Board Director and Managing Director of a major regional building contractor. He continues to hold directorships within property development businesses operating across diverse sectors and is a director of a PFI school project in Hereford.
A respected industry leader, Mark holds several influential positions, including Strategy Director of the Global Solar Council and former Chair of the National Federation of Builders. He also Chairs the West Midlands Solar Taskforce, the Construction Industry Robots Cooperative, and an industry group focused on improving quality standards across the solar sector. He is an active contributor to industry policy, skills development, and the advancement of modern methods of construction and renewable energy deployment.
